Inter-Faith Week 2010 in Stockport
Stockport celebrated the second national Inter-Faith Week with a variety
of events between Sunday 21st and Saturday 27th November 2010:
- Faith 4 the Future Sunday 21st November 3-6pm
A multi-faith event to bring communities together, which attracted over 200 people from faith and non faith backgrounds. The Mayor of Stockport, Councillor Hazel Lees and Hazel Grove MP Andrew Stunell (Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government) opened the event. Participants were then treated to an afternoon of music, dance and drama, displays and food. The event was held at the HatWorks Museum, where the collection of faith headwear that was unveiled at last year’s Inter-Faith Week is still on display. Visit the HatWorks Museum Website
- Open days and Events at faith buildings
The Church of Christ, Scientist, held an open day on Saturday 27th November where people were welcome to go and find out more about the Christian Science faith.
- Stockport Libraries - nine libraries in the borough organised displays to highlight the range of books they have available about the major world faiths and their traditions.
